I'm glad your therapist told you it's not about the status its about finding your identity. As I read this article, I instantly connected. My long term relationship with the father of my kids was over. He moved on very quickly. I felt replaced. Moving on was supposed to feel good, but parts of me were broken. I had to start this new chapter without him, it hasn't been easy, but everyday is a step, it's progress.

When we become wives, mothers, girlfriends, the ex we tend to forget that we are an individuals, it happens. Rediscovering who we are minus those titles can feel scary, exciting, and beautiful separately or all at once.

I would be lying if I said I didn't miss our family unit, under one roof, but that's not my reality anymore and I've learned to be OK with that.

In addition, we sometimes think that people are making judgments about our situation and sometimes they are. Let them talk. Just make sure you're smiling.
