I Just Want To Read & Write
One of the things I’ve always loved about Medium are the articles. I love reading, getting new perspectives, and learning new things. The content is definitely still here, but some of this new content simply says: FOLLOW ME.
The FOLLOW ME, isn’t in all caps, but it may as well be. It feels like our creatives are yelling and begging to be followed. I want to get into the Partner Program as well, but when it happens I want it to happen organically. I would like for it to happen organically, but apparently I’m in a dream world.
I thought that Medium would be the anti follow, like, and subscribe platform. Now I have to learn all the tricks to be noticed like clapping more than once, highlighting a sentence that I like then share it on social media. Adding keywords for SEO, and on and on and on. Here I was thinking that if I clapped or left a comment I was doing enough.
I can continue to only read and write, but what’s the purpose if I have no audience? I need readers. I need followers. This sucks. Wish me luck.
